This session, entitled “Novel Mediators in Lipid Metabolism” is a joint symposium with the Canadian Society of Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology (CSATVB). In this session, invited speakers from the Korean Society of Lipid and Atherosclerosis (KSoLA) and CSATVB will present on novel mediators in lipid metabolism. Prof. Joo-Won Park from Ewha Womans University, Korea will talk about the role of ceramide in ER stress depends on its acyl chain length. Prof. Morgan Fullerton from University of Ottawa, Canada will discuss energy sensing regulates immunometabolism in atherosclerosis. Prof. Young Ah Moon from Inha University, Korea will talk about Roles of ELOVL5 in lipid metabolism. Prof. Gordon Francis from University of British Columbia, Canada will discuss the numeric and pathologic significance of smooth muscle cell foam cells in atherosclerosis. Prof. Chang-Hee Jung from University of Ulsan, Korea will talk about clonal Hematopoiesis as a novel risk factor for cardio-metabolic disorders.
